Defective Japlo / It’s My Binky Pacifiers Linked to Choking Hazard Among Infants
On July 22, 2008 the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) initiated an Urgent Nationwide Recall of Japlo / It’s My Binky brand pacifiers because the pacifier is defective and may pose a choking hazard to young babies and infants.
According the the CPSC, “The pacifier button, ring handle and shield with nipple can detach, posing a choking hazard to infants.”
The Japlo pacifier recall and It’s My Binky’s Personalized Pacifier recall has been initiated in association with the manufacturer, It’s My Binky, of Henderson, Nev.
The pacifier was sold at Nordstrom and baby boutique retail stores nationwide and online at www.itsmybinky.com from February 2006 through June 2008 for between $5 and $6.
Which Pacifiers Are Recalled?
The recalled pacifiers have “Japlo” imprinted on the front of the pacifier shield at the bottom, center. The pacifiers were sold in blue, white and pink with various words or designs printed on the button of the pacifier.
