The Kugel Mesh hernia patches were recalled after the FDA began receiving reports of breakage of the memory recoil ring. Ring breakage is a serious and sometimes life-threatening side effect of the defective Kugel patches, which can lead to bowel obstruction, bowel perforation, chronic enteric fistulas (abnormal connections between the intestines) and other injuries (see: Kugel Hernia Patch Injuries below).

Bard Composix Kugel Mesh Hernia Patch Injuries
