On August 5, 2008, The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission in association with DEWALT Industrial Tool Co., of Towson, Md. announced a nationwide recall of the DEWALT DC608 Cordless Brad Nailers.
What’s the problem?
According to the CPSC recall announcement, the nailer can operate when the lock-off (safety) is in the locked position. Also, the nailer can operate when the trigger is not pulled and the contact trip is depressed. The unexpected ejection of a nail poses a serious injury hazard to consumers. DeWALT has received two reports of nailers operating when the lock-off (safety) was in the locked position. No injuries have been reported.
