On August 6, 2008, The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission in association with Kids with Character LLC, of New York, N.Y. announced a nationwide recall of the BongoCheetah Girls Jacket.
What’s the problem?
According to the CPSC recall announcement, the garments have a drawstring through the hood which can pose a strangulation hazard to children. In February 1996, CPSC issued guidelines (pdf) to help prevent children from strangling or getting entangled on the neck and waist by drawstrings in upper garments, such as jackets and sweatshirts.

The recall effects approximately 1,200 units of the BongoCheetah Girls Jacket, which were sold at Marshalls stores nationwide from November 2007 through August 2008 for about $25.
